Happy Earth Day!

As we spend today celebrating sustainability + spreading awareness for protecting our environment, here are some ways you can take action and enjoy the beauty of our planet Earth right here in North & Central Alabama.

Get outside.

Simply taking in the beauty of nature is one of the best ways to reflect this Earth Day.

We recommend spending a peaceful afternoon enjoying the outdoors! Check out a list of some of our favorite outdoor spots around all the areas we serve.

East Alabama

Some local parks to consider include Oxford Lake Park, Choccolocco Park, and Anniston’s Centennial Memorial Park. For scenic trails, try the Chief Ladiga Trail or the Coldwater Mountain Bike Trail. If you’re looking for stunning views, check out the overlooks at Cheaha State Park or the Anniston Eastern Bypass.

Central Alabama

Oak Mountain State Park, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and the Vulcan Park and Museum. Each location offers unique experiences and opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.

North Alabama

Some popular options include Monte Sano State Park, the Land Trust of North Alabama, and the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. Each of these locations has unique features and trails to explore.

Get involved.

Whether it’s a local cleanup or planting an addition to your own garden, take action today! I hope you take some extra time to enjoy the beauty of North & Central Alabama in honor of this Earth Day!
